Running From the Temple

Temple Run 2 puts you in the role of a treasure seeker who has taken an artifact from a sacred temple. The chase begins immediately, and your only objective is to keep moving forward for as long as possible. The path stretches through rocky cliffs, dark mines, and dense forests, with each environment introducing its own arrangement of obstacles. Because the game is endless, every session ends only when you hit something or get caught by the creatures behind you.

Swipe Controls and Obstacle Types

All movement is handled through simple swipe gestures. Swipe up to jump over fallen logs or stone arches, swipe down to slide under low-hanging branches, and swipe left or right to turn at corners. The game automatically increases speed as you progress, so reaction time matters more than planning. Fire pits, barriers, and sudden turns demand quick, accurate swipes. The controls work on both touchscreens and mouse input, and the browser version requires no download.

Coins, Power-Ups, and Unlockables

Gold coins are scattered along the running path, and collecting them serves two purposes: they add to your score and act as currency for upgrades and character skins. Power-ups appear during runs and change how you approach difficult sections. A coin magnet pulls nearby coins toward you, an invincibility shield protects against one collision, and a speed boost pushes you faster for a short time. Using these at the right moment can extend a run significantly.

What Makes Each Run Different

The game uses procedurally generated paths, so no two runs follow the same layout. Obstacles shift, turns appear in different sequences, and power-up placement varies. This means you cannot memorize a single route; instead, you learn to read patterns and react to what appears on screen. The three environments—cliffs, mines, and forests—rotate during a run, each with distinct visual cues and obstacle sets. Regular updates add new content and challenges, keeping the rotation fresh.
